Dr. TC Rao was born on 07 July 1957 in a military family in Kailashpur (Dhani Jatusana), a small village in Rewari district, to Mrs. Nihal Kaur and Subedar Ramchandra. He was interested in sports and new experiments since childhood. Drawing inspiration from the military traditions of his forefathers, Dr. Rao joined the Indian Army on September 16, 1976, as a hockey player, through the sports quota, after passing his eleventh standard. He grew up in a military family, his great-grandfather, grandfather and father were all from the army background and the family has served the country for more than 200 years. It is also a matter of pride that his father fought in the Sino-Indian War of 1962 and the Indo-Pakistani Wars of 1965 and 1971, along with seven brothers in the family. Due to his intelligence and hard work, Dr. Rao got his Ph.D in Defense Studies. and M.A. in four subjects while serving in the Army. Did. He also got commissioned in the Army as a PC/SL Record Officer, through lateral entry, and proved his mettle. Dr. Rao served a total of 24 years in the army and spent 19 years in studies, thus setting an example in the Indian Army.
On July 15, 2000, he took voluntary retirement from the army and started a new inning of his services in the social and business sectors, which continues even today. In the year 2001, through a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) named “Grameen Utthan-Bharat Nirman”, he launched several projects for ex-servicemen, families of martyrs and unemployed youth and worked for mass awareness in rural areas. Run campaigns.
After retirement he also set up a business venture known as Skylark Group and later on various businesses like Road & Bridge Construction, Highway Maintenance, Toll Collection, mining in India and abroad, Car specialist “Multi Brand Car Services” Rapidly, expanded and evolved by becoming vertical. Today security guards and house keepers are deployed across the country. The employee strength is more than 12000 in various departments.
Shaheed Foundation was established in 2013 to take care of the families of the martyrs. His skill in book writing is also commendable and he has successfully published five small and big books on topics like Employment Opportunities, Career Management, Story of Rejangla, Overview of Rural Upliftment etc. Many books related to society and rural development on different sections of the society are now under publication.
Dr. T.C. Rao gives the credit of his success to his parents and his wife, Mrs. Kamlesh Rao. His rise in position, respect, wealth and prosperity began only after his marriage with Mrs. Kamlesh Rao. They have two sons and their elder son Navneet Pratap Singh is married to Ms. Sayali Bhagat, former Miss India and actress. The younger son, Navdeep Pratap Singh is a “commercial pilot” and is married to Ms. Kinni. Both have completed management course from USA and today they are leading Skylark Group of Companies which has multiple businesses spread across India and abroad. God has also given him two lovely granddaughters named Ivanka and Navira. We wish him all the best in his endeavours.
